It gives us motivation, assertiveness, a sense of power, feeling of well being and enhanced sex drive and many more things. When we have an adequate level of testosterone we are able to live our lives to the fullest. Without testosterone our life may become a combination of only black and white. It is testosterone that makes our life enjoyable and colorful. However we do not realize it always until we face with any challenge like testosterone deficiency or any other disease.
Testosterone has powerful anti-aging effects. It turns fat into muscle, keeps skin smooth, increases bone density, gives us positive mood, and boosts our ability to handle stress. It even supports cognitive functioning, and keeps the liver and blood vessels clean. For women, testosterone can help in improving look, figure, and outlook on life, enjoyment of living, sex appeal and sexual satisfaction. In other words in keeps us healthy from all angles. Low testosterone levels have been seen to be associated with heart attack, Alzheimer’s disease, osteoporosis, and depression. If you are freezing cold all the time and your thyroid levels is quite high, you may be low on testosterone level.
Women produce increased amounts of testosterone during teenage. Level of testosterone stays at peak for women in their early twenties. The hormone level decreases with age. By the time a woman reaches her menopause stage, she may have only half of the level of testosterone that she had in early twenties. Women have always been reluctant or even fearful of supplementing falling testosterone levels. If a woman chooses hormone therapy, she finds that the replacement of estrogen alone does not correct an absent sex drive and she also needs testosterone to have a balanced and normal hormonal function.
